Jonathan Coleman’s son Oscar Coleman honours his father as he’s laid to rest: ‘Remembering my dad’
Australian radio and TV presenter Jonathan Coleman was laid to rest today.
The beloved TV presenter died at 65 after a four-year battle with prostate cancer. His son Oscar Coleman honoured him with a heartfelt message.
“Remembering my Dad @jonocoleman today. Hopefully, we’ll be allowed a bigger celebration with more than 10 people in a month or two,” Oscar wrote alongside a pamphlet from the small ceremony on July 22.
“Celebrating the life of Jonathan Harry Coleman,” the leaflet read.
Current COVID-19 restrictions mean up to 10 people can attend an indoor or outdoor funeral or memorial service or gathering afterwards — but they must wear a mask indoors.
Jonathan was known for his early work on Simon Townsend’s Wonder World! in 1979. He went on to host radio shows on Triple J and Triple M, before heading to the UK.
“Jono and I have been soulmates for close to 40 years. We have been fortunate to live a rich and wonderful life and I have been lucky enough to watch up-close someone with enormous talent and the special gift to make people laugh,” his wife Margot said.
