Conor McGregor says there’s ‘no beef’ between him and rapper Machine Gun Kelly following altercation on red carpet

Conor McGregor has shed some light on his ‘altercation’ with Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this week.

The UFC champion and the rapper almost got into a brawl at the Barclay Centre in Brooklyn after McGregor was seen throwing a drink at Kelly. The incident unfolded on the red carpet and escalated so quickly, the men had to be separated by security guards.

However, it appears it’s all water under the bridge, with McGregor telling TMZ there’s no beef between the pair.

“I got to go to the Barclays Center again. I got to present an award. I was just going to have a good time, you know what I mean? That’s it. All love, all love! It’s all good,” he told the outlet.

The 33-year-old then extended an invite for Kelly, 31, to attend his next fight.

“Come to the next fight and watch me perform any time. I perform, no problem. Everyone’s more than welcome to come to my fights or come to the shows. No beef. I don’t even know the guy,” McGregor added.

It was on Monday that the two men were photographed in almost-altercation on the red carpet, with McGregor allegedly “throwing fists”.

“[They] got into a fight at the top of the carpet [and] had to be pulled apart,” a source confirmed to Page Six, with another telling the outlet, “[McGregor] was ready to throw fists. Security was having trouble holding him back.”

There was also speculation McGregor became upset when his request for a photo with Kelly was ignored, but the fighter’s reps denied this in a statement.

“Conor McGregor did not ask anyone for a picture, nor did he instigate this incident,” the statement read. “He does not know Machine Gun Kelly, outside of the fact that he attended Conor’s fight this past July.”

Following the red carpet incident, McGregor told Entertainment Tonight “nothing happened”, despite the entire situation playing out in front of cameras.

“I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy. Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean?” McGregor said.

“I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”
